This section is for STOLEN and RECOVERED/FOUND bikes.

If you've had a bicycle stolen please post it here in the comments section, along with any identifying marks or components that would make it easier to tell your bike apart from the rest. If you want to hear about your bike when someone else sees it, please post your contact information as well.

If you've recovered or found a bike, please DON'T post any specific details besides a general make and model. Again, leave your contact information if you want people to be able to retrieve their bicycles from you.

If you have a picture posted to flickr or another gallery, please provide a link to the picture so that we can see exactly what we're looking for. Thanks!

small reward offered to call 512-771-2439 if you see this bike. Bigger reward to hold the scumbag down while I beat him.

My custom Titanium Dean bike was stolen from my garage on Aug 21st. The serial number is DC6182. It had yellow tires, yellow bottle cages, purple bar tape, and a yellow sticker that said "TAMMY" on the top tube (all of this could be gone though - hence the serial #). Mavic Krysrium Wheels, Orange Speedplay pedals, specialized jett saddle, full DuraAce Component Set. Please please grab it and call me and police if you see it. This bike was my baby and I'm devastated.

Hi all,

My girlfriend just had her brand new Diamondback Outlook stolen from the carport in our Hyde Park apartment complex earlier this week. The bike is a silver color and the frame is 14", so it fits a small person. We had moved the bike out to the carport to avoid damage from the rain and locked it around the brake, and the thief cut the brake.

If you happen to find this, please email me at stephenc144@gmail.com

Thanks!

had all nice accessories.. front and rear lights, upgraded seat, etc. missing it terribly. it was 7 years old.

I WILL BUY A U LOCK!!! for the next bike...darn it ....

Hey. I work at a place that has a lot of lost/abandoned bikes come through its doors. There is a really nice looking purple bike with drop handlebars and green rims here that looks too good to be an abandoned bike. I think it was stolen and then abandoned by the theif and it has come into our possession.Get in touch if this sounds like your bike or a bike that belongs to someone you know.

My bike was stolen from my front porch some time, last night, august 10. It was a 06 hardrock sport, black with silver trim. It had several scratches on it, as I ride on the trails as often as I can. I don't have any pics yet, but if I find any I will post them.

Thanks

Stolen from our garage on Friday, 8-6-10: 2006 blue Gary Fisher Tiburon hybrid bike, much treasured by our daughter who just brought it home after four years in college in Vermont. I have called police but hope that perhaps someone noticed a person around our garage at 600 Bellevue Place between Bellevue and Rathervue. The color is blue with silver swirls on the frame, very distinctive. Reward for return.

Posting on behalf of a friend. This bike is unique for the Austin area as it has long travel and a coil shock. Any info on the whereabouts is welcome and a reward will be paid for it's safe return. Please mail adam dot leedy at gmail dot com with any leads.

The bike is a 2007 Specialized SX trail with a white Marzocchi 66 fork, white bars/stem, and pink oury grips.

It was stolen sometime between 6:30PM and 10:00PM on Monday night from the corner of 2nd and Attayac just a couple blocks east of I-35. The bike was covered in mud from a trip to New Mexico last weekend. I was able to follow tracks of mud south on Attayac and then east on Caesar Chavez for a total of about 6 blocks. The thief would have been carrying a set of bolt cutters I assume they cut the lock very cleanly.

My Red Schwinn Le Tour was stolen Tuesday night outside of the GingerMan. It has a Fireman's number 4 sticker on it along with a Cyclydactils sticker on it. It's all red including the handle bars. It's a 56" bike with the original seat. Please look out for it as all of you know our bikes mean a lot to us, and this one is my baby. This a link to photo of it so please watch out:

Wish I'd read the U-lock post earlier this week. Not that I'd have run out and bought one, instead of imagining that it would never happen to me!

Well, my sweet old mountain bike got the cable chopped off a couple days ago. It's a 15-yr-old KHS Comp. Dark blue (some say purple-ish) with NO DECALS.

If you see it, let me know! 659-0617

Blue & White - not a common color combo for this year.

All stock, except heavy duty alloy pedals with sharp shoe spikes were added recently.

We are getting the serial number from the shop where it was bought.

$100 reward

It was stolen from inside a locked building by professional thieves. One bike has turned up near 11th St & Rosewood, sold by an individual who can't be tracked down.

I, too had a '90s Specialized Stumpjumper stolen. Details are as follows:

17" M2 metal matrix frame - electric lime green. Lots of chain slap scratches on the rear triangle.
Black rigid fork.
Mavic rims, 1" slick tires.
LX brakes, XTR front deraileur, XT rear, old-school Deore XT thumbshifters.
Stickers on top and downtubes.
Generic stem with the word "zoom" on it. Straight handlebars.

The bike was locked to my house in Hyde Park and stolen approximately three weeks ago. (I only just learned of this website).

If you see a bike matching this description, please give a holler.

sshapley@gmail.com

I had a 1998 Orange (Mango) Specialized Stumpjumper stolen from my shed. Rock Shox Judy fork, XT rear derailleur, LX front derailleur, Avid brakes, Rock Shox suspension seat post, green rollamajig rear derailleur helper, it's an older bike but worked and fit me well. 20.5" large frame, orange color sticks out like a sore thumb. Stolen from the 35/Town Lake area (near Holiday Inn).

Thank you Jordan for being a total angel and sending my bike home.

EVERYONE - please send Jordan good bike mojo, her bike was stolen and she's looking for a vintage cruiser with chrome and fenders. She bought mine from a neighbor and returned it because she could tell something was wrong.

If you buy a used bike, check to see how custom it is. Check Craigslist and check stolenbicycleregistry.com & atxbs.com. Buy the bike and its owner will pay you back.

There are lots of bike thieves in town and you'd never suspect them. If you see someone jack a bike, get their info and turn them in.

So go write down your bike's serial number now, and scratch your driver's license into the frame. Its the only way you'll get your bike back unless you've got an angel like Jordan.

UPDATE: My wife, Amy, has been trying to spread the word to local shops, and dropped off her first flyer with photo and description at The Hub in San Marcos today. Alex, at The Hub, called me a few hours later stating that someone had called him Tuesday (within hours of the time of theft) trying to sell a bike that matched that description. Alex said he obviously didn't know a thing about what he had. They don't have caller ID and the caller didn't leave a name but actually asked "do you take down names of people you buy bikes from?". This type of call was likely to have been placed all over Austin, SM, and maybe even SA, so please let your favorite shops know about this.

Anyway, Alex knew it was sketchy but didn't know who it belonged to so he just hung up on the guy. I've asked him and APD to pull the phone records for incoming calls to the Hub starting at 11:00am 5/25/10. This should provide a good lead.

We're calling ALL local shops early tomorrow to provide the same description and flyer if possible. If anyone is going to their favorite shop soon, PLEASE print a copy of my post and photo to give to them.

*fingers crossed*

I think this guy was a dipsh*t stereo thief who got lucky by finding a bike in the car.
